Manchester United missed

Manchester United play well enough at home to Benfica at Old Trafford before dawn can only reach a single digit. Results were preclude the Red Devils to qualify directly for the fall phase.

Results were also beyond the expectations of Sir Alex Ferguson, who wanted to make sure his troops could soon win a ticket to the Champions League last 16. However, United's gaffer was not disappointed with what has been done troops.

"We did lose some players because of injuries, but I did not protest with the squad that I have today, and they're playing well," he said.

"We conceded two goals strange. The first was an own goal and then because of the bad feedback, but we've played well. We've played good football and I can not blame my players at all."

But Ferguson acknowledged that a draw does not match expectations. "This game can indeed be cruel in the end," he said.

Fergie is also affirmed, his squad will fight it out in the final Group C against Basel to get one ticket left.

"The match against Basel will be heavy. This action is important, but I have confidence in my team. We may not get first place, but what we need is a good win in Switzerland," said Ferguson.
